Tiedot
The Yoga Teacher Training deepens the yogic path in a holistic way and provides a wide range of tools for teaching yoga. The training focuses in a highly practical manner on the detailed technical analysis of asana and breathing practices, skills that can be applied to any yoga style that includes asanas and pranayama. Students learn to build and guide yoga programmes with an emphasis on the controlled slowing down of practice. In addition, the training deepens the student’s personal yoga practice, expanding knowledge both experientially and practically.
Yoga, the mind, and nervous system regulation
Yoga is meant to bring about greater control of one's mind. Asana and breathing practices can be applied directly towards this goal. Exercises to calm down nervous system are always at the forefront of the class structure. This approach does not make the practice easier or lighter, but it does make it safe and calming.
Hands on adjustments and pedagogical foundations
The training also teaches how to guide students using various hands-on adjustment techniques that help students deepen their work in the asana, and how to assist students in teaching situations. Through the study of functional anatomy and physiology, understanding of different bodily structures and challenges increases, and guiding students in various situations becomes clearer. The pedagogy of teaching is explored, to learn how to reach learners in different ways. The training develops interaction skills and the ability to create a safe teaching environment, and guides teachers in bringing yoga's ethical principles into their teaching.
Personal practice as a learning pathway
The training deepens the student’s personal practice and expands their individual yoga path. Through their personal practice, each participant can follow their own progress during the training and gain first-hand experience of the themes studied.
Learning methods and study formats
The training includes practical exercises, independent study in the form of assignments and videos, group and pair work, and interactive learning with the teachers.
Certification and progression options
Participants who complete the contact learning periods, all assignments and exercises, and a separate demonstration examination may receive an RYT-200H certificate. The examination is taken as a separate section after the training, consisting of a personal practice demonstration and a teaching demonstration. Participation in the demonstration examination is optional for those whose goal is to deepen their personal practice rather than to become a yoga teacher. You may begin RYT 500H studies from this module. This training can also be combined with a previously completed RYT-200H training. After this training, you may continue with a new 200H module. Following two RYT 200H trainings, you may take a 100H module, enabling studies to be completed up to RYT-500H level.
Target group
Who the training is suitable for
The training is suitable for regular yoga practitioners, those already teaching yoga, and those interested in teaching yoga. Participants may also join to deepen their personal yoga path, without the goal of becoming a yoga teacher. Students’ own background does not need to be tied to any particular yoga tradition. This training is for you if you are curious, open-minded and eager to learn something new, to deepen what you have already learned, and if you are prepared to integrate the practices into your daily life also outside the training.
Applying
Send your application by email to [email protected]. Attach to your application a short description of your own yoga background. Once you have been accepted to the course, you can register through the booking system.
